Quick Fuel Technology® Introduces Three New 450cfm 4V Carburetors

BOWLING GREEN, KY – Throttle response can be more important than peak horsepower, especially for most street vehicles, and nothing affects throttle response more than carburetor size. Prior to Quick Fuel Technology’s® (QFT’s) new 450cfm four-barrel carbs, folks with small V8s and 4- and 6-cylinder engines had to work with 600cfm or 650cfm carbs. Regardless of calibration, airflow and fuel curves were rarely optimal.

QFT has solved this dilemma with three new 450cfm models centered around a single die-cast aluminum main body with 1.090” venturis and 1-9/16” throttle plates. There is a mechanical secondary HR-Series, a polished vacuum secondary Slayer model and a Black Diamond® version of the Slayer. These carbs feature normal 4150 modular carb dimensions such as air-horn diameter and baseplate bolt pattern – so they bolt to 4150-flanged intake manifolds and accept traditional four-barrel air cleaners.

QFT’s HR-450 model shows its true performance heritage with mechanical secondaries, dual metering blocks and dual-inlet fuel bowls. The only visible concession to daily street driving is the electric choke. Enthusiasts are already sizing up these carbs as ideal for small-block street tunnel rams. Install the 1:1 Quick-Link™ secondary link for cruise night antics, then swap back to the 40% link for more economical daily driving.

The Slayer SL-450-VS and BD-450-VS offer all of the adjustability of the original Slayer carb and feature the single-inlet, side-hung fuel bowls that make them so adaptable to early muscle cars and O.E. replacements. They both have vacuum secondaries with QFT’s Quick-Set™ single screw adjustment and electric chokes. They are completely adjustable with changeable air bleeds and primary and secondary main jets. The Black Diamond® version lowers fuel temperatures by up to 6% and is scratch and corrosion resistant.

Quick Fuel Technology® Introduces New 2-BBL Circle Track Carburetors

BOWLING GREEN, KY – Quick Fuel Technology® (QFT™) has introduced a new series of circle track racing 2-BBL carburetors (Part # XP-4412) that are packed with features designed to make them competitive with the one-off custom-built carbs that cost hundreds of dollars more. Precise, black anodized billet metering blocks and throttle bodies are devoid of casting flaws and irregularities. A die-cast, lightweight aluminum main body has centered venturis for improved performance and better distribution. The choke tower has been eliminated and the inlet specially contoured for increased airflow as well. An anti-siphon check valve is installed in the main body to reduce pump pullover. The throttle body incorporates roller bearing seals that provide for smoother operation and less wear on the shaft. Specially designed straight leg boosters provide higher airflow (XP-4412-S only).

Like all QFT carbs, these new 2-BBL Circle Track Carburetors are infinitely tuneable with changeable air bleeds, emulsion bleeds and power valve channel restrictions. They are augmented with adjustable idle mixture screws. For those exacting and difficult race applications optional 3-circuit metering is also available. Rounding out the fuel handling duties is a dual inlet fuel bowl with -8 AN fittings. It is equipped with dual sight glass windows for easy float adjustment and a single wedge style circle track float.

QFT finished off these carbs with its proprietary Black Diamond® coating that provides enhanced corrosion protection and a 6% reduction in fuel temperature. Quick Fuel Technology® Introduces New Quick Cool Carburetor Insulator Kits

BOWLING GREEN, KY – Many carburetor problems can be traced to elevated fuel temperatures in the carburetor. Vapor lock, erratic idle and unresponsiveness to adjustments are just a few of the typical issues. That’s why Quick Fuel Technology® (QFT) developed its Black Diamond™ heat resistant coatings for its carburetors and manifolds. For those without coatings, QFT’s new Quick Cool carb insulator kits (Part # 300-4013) reduce heat transfer to the carburetor by both deflecting heat away from the carb main body and fuel bowl area plus reducing heat transfer from the manifold flange to the carb base.

QFT’s Quick Cool Insulator Kits are a thin aluminum and poly-core sandwich that fits between the carburetor and manifold. It is designed for 4150-style carb flanges and fits Holley®, QFT™ and Street Demon carbs. The bottom layer of aluminum deflects some of the heat around the insulator. The poly-core reduces the heat transfer and the top layer is designed to dissipate any heat that might get through.

The kit comes complete with the poly-core sandwich insulator, non-stick open flange gaskets, carb studs and hardware. Quick Fuel Technology’s® Quick Kits Restore New Carburetor Performance

BOWLING GREEN, KY -- After a hard season of racing, your Quick Fuel Technology® (QFT) performance carburetor may need a little TLC. QFT’s Quick Kits are all you need for a quick rebuild to restore your carburetor to like-new performance. Race fuel additives can deteriorate many “soft” carburetor parts like needle and seat assemblies, power valves, pump diaphragms and gaskets. Performance may slowly fall off, and it is hard to pinpoint why.

Rather than deal with these sometimes perplexing problems at the track, installing a QFT Quick Kit will ensure consistent and repeatable performance. Plus, these new kits will actually upgrade your QFT carb with redesigned fuel bowl and metering block gaskets with larger diameter holes including booster through-holes and main jet feed passages. No longer is there a chance of the gasket becoming the restriction or metering device. All gaskets are made out of MP-15 non-stick gasket material that provides excellent sealing ability and retains fastener torque.

A simple lean or nitrous backfire in the intake system can rupture or compromise the performance of a power valve. QFT’s Quick Kits also include its exclusive FOUR DOOR® power valves that provide greater flow capacity and react more quickly to rapid throttle opening. Another component included in the kit are GFLT accelerator pump diaphragms that will provide reliable performance for all alcohol-based fuels, ensure crisp throttle response and a full pump shot when you need it.

QFT Quick Kits are available for six applications: 2300 style flange, 350-500cfm 2bbl circle track applications, gas only; 4150 mechanical secondary, gas only; 4150 vacuum secondary, gas only; 4150 E85 and alcohol applications; 4500 2- and 3-circuit, gas only, and 4500 2- and 3-circuit for E85 and alcohol only.

Quick Fuel Technology™ Introduces BLACK DIAMOND™ Series Carburetors

Bowling Green, KY – Engine compartments are hostile environments for carburetors. Carburetors can reach a peak under-hood temperature of between 180° to 200° F., and the chemical residues in the fuel, oil and coolant can literally bake onto your carburetor and become corrosive over a period of time. While an unsightly looking carb won’t usually affect performance, under-hood heat will. For years racers and tuners have increased performance by lowering fuel temperature. Quick Fuel Technology™ (QFT) has introduced a highly durable Teflon® coating that lowers fuel temperatures by 6% to ensure maximum power and response. It is impact and scratch resistant and also resists corrosion from under-hood chemicals and harsh environments found in marine applications or coastal regions.

The high performance Teflon® coating is designed specifically for the unique requirements of carburetors and is available in a satin black finish. NitroPlate®, an industry leader in all types of high temperature coatings, designed and applies this coating on select SS-Series, Q-Series, and QFX-Series carburetors for QFT.

With the Black Diamond™ Series your carburetor will shed dirt and resist corrosion, offering a showroom fresh appearance and unique performance advantage for years. Quick Fuel Technology Releases New Single Inlet, Dual Needle & Seat Billet Fuel Bowl

BOWLING GREEN, KY – While today’s race engines have increased horsepower more than threefold, carburetor fuel handling has remained unchanged for nearly 30 years. Tuners are trying to meet these increased fuel demands with a single inlet needle & seat assembly and the same fuel bowl capacity. This problem has been “Band Aided®” with oversized fuel pumps, high-flow regulators and fuel lines, but the fuel bowl has remained the basic “bottleneck” in the fuel delivery system especially for alcohol, E85 and high horsepower applications.

Quick Fuel Technology (QFT) has solved the problem with its all-new billet aluminum fuel bowl that features single inlet, dual needle and seat assemblies that flow twice as much fuel as traditional fuel bowls, and increased bowl capacity especially needed in high horsepower alcohol, E85 and blow-through supercharger applications. The new QFT Billet Fuel Bowl (P/N 34-114) fits all 2300, 4150 and 4500-style Modular Carbs.

CNC-machined from T6061 billet aluminum, these fuel bowls are precise, strong and have zero porosity. They are hard anodized for corrosion protection and are fully compatible with alcohol or E85 fuels. A center baffle reduces side-to-side fuel slosh and the bowls also feature dual sight glasses for easy float adjustment. They also attach with standard factory length fuel bowl screws, and accept both 30cc or 50cc accelerator pump assemblies.

Priced at $249.99 Racer Net P/N 34-114 includes one single Inlet, dual needle and seat billet aluminum fuel bowl, notched floats, non-stick bowl gasket, check valve and #8 AN inlet fitting. Not only has Quick Fuel precisely tuned and configured a full line of performance E85 carbs, they have packed them with features that will resist the highly corrosive 85-percent ethanol fuel for years of trouble free performance. Special high-flow bullet style stainless steel needle and seat assemblies prevent sticking caused by fuel contaminants, and E85 resistant GFLT accelerator pumps have replaced traditional rubber pumps. Alcohol resistant floats with stainless steel hinges are designed for improved leverage to close the larger needle and seats. The special billet throttle body and metering blocks have been anodized for protection and the fuel bowls are also coated for corrosion protection. Stainless steel throttle plates glide on Teflon™ coated throttle shafts and feature the QuickLink system that easily change secondary opening rates.

Quick Fuel not only offers complete E85 carbs, they have conversion kits for gas 4500HP® style carbs. These conversion kits contain everything necessary to convert your carb to E85. Quick Fuel also offers billet E85 metering blocks for 4150 style carbs plus all of the individual pieces to make the changeover. Another helpful E85 tool that is essential for E85 racers is Quick Fuel’s E85 fuel checker (E-Checker) that measures the amount of ethanol present in E85. This can vary from 70- to 85-percent depending on the refining process. While this is insignificant to street performance drivers, it is vital for racers looking to extract the maximum out of their engines.

The Ultimate Circle Track Carburetor By Quick Fuel Technology

BOWLING GREEN, KY – Circle track racers have special needs when it comes to carburetion. First, they need excellent fuel control to ensure precise fuel metering under hard cornering, braking and acceleration. Unlike many other so-called circle track carburetors, Quick Fuel Technology’s SSR-650-CT combines patented baffled fuel bowls and metering blocks with unique wedge shaped Nitrophyl-M floats to provide superior fuel control – no matter how many Gs the car pulls, or how bumpy the track. QFT’s new Nitrophyl-M floats are methanol resistant too.

Secondly, a driver needs precise throttle control to balance available traction with the available power. QFT uses Teflon™ coated throttle shafts with Teflon™ bearings for the smoothest throttle motion in the business. Combine this with QFT’s QuickLink™ adjustable secondary throttle linkage, and you can quickly adjust throttle action to match track conditions. With QuickLink™ you can delay secondary opening or speed it up.

QFT’s SSR-650-CT carburetor is a lightweight alternative for traditional crate motors. Its all-aluminum construction reduces weight over Zinc-bodied carbs by 2/3rds. It has tough, stainless steel throttle plates and sight glass windows for easy float adjustment.

New Circle Track “Wedge” Carb Floats By Quick Fuel Technology

BOWLING GREEN, KY – One of the carburetor’s shortcomings for racing is controlling fuel slosh in the fuel bowl. Quick Fuel Technology (QFT), makers of racing and performance street carburetors has several innovations to help solve these problems. QFT discovered that float shape and design has a lot to do with controlling fuel flow, especially in a circle track car that deals with huge sideways centrifugal forces. They have also found that by dividing the float chamber with baffles and isolating the float in a smaller chamber greatly helps fuel control.

The new QFT Circle Track Floats are wedged shaped and made out of Nitrophyl-M material that is methanol resistant. The float’s wedge shape allows fuel to “stack-up” to one side of the fuel bowl in a hard turn without raising the float, closing the inlet needle and seat causing a lean condition coming off the corner. When used with QFT’s fuel bowls and metering blocks with matching internal baffles, carburetor fuel handling problems on circle track cars are virtually eliminated.

QFT’s new circle track floats can be used on all 4150-style carbs, and QFT’s P-Series, Q-Series and SSR-650-CTs. The part numbers are 16-13 for the primary fuel bowl, and 16-12 for the secondary bowl. The good news for racers is that this superior technology actually costs less than QFT’s existing Nitrophyl-style floats.

Hot Rod carbs are offered in sizes from 580 to 780-cfm with either vacuum or mechanical secondaries. The vacuum secondary housing has an adjustment screw so you can easily tune the opening rate of the secondaires. The mechanical secondary links can be changed depending on your needs from soft progressive to medium progressive or 1:1.

Shut It Down Safely Quick Fuel Technology Throttle Return Spring Kit

BOWLING GREEN, KY - When you are traveling over 100-mph at the end of the ¼-mile be sure your throttle return springs are going to do their job. The Quick Fuel Technology Throttle Return Spring kit for 4150-style carbs (#49-3) will ensure that your throttle plates close when it's most important.

Quick Fuel Technology (QFT) engineered this kit to eliminate the possibility of a stuck throttle. The geometrically correct return spring system will never hang up and never fail, keeping you and your racecar safe. QFT's lightened stainless steel return spring bracket mounts to a main body carb stud, providing a secure attachment preventing the return spring bracket from rotating out of position.

The return spring and bracket are racer "friendly" and do not interfere with fuel bowl or metering block removal. The bracket and springs allow access to the idle mixture screws too. Dual stainless steel springs, coupled with the throttle lever bushing, provide firm and smooth throttle feel and meet the dual return spring safety requirements of most sanctioning bodies.
